After previously giving a non-recommendation to the proposed amendments to the parking code, the Committee passed the code with additional amendments. The changes will significantly reduce the required minimum parking in the city and aim to benefit local businesses.

The council discussed the preliminary study results of the Transit 2.0 plan, policy suggestions for a legislative program and teamwork needed between city transit authorities.

The city’s new budget, with $4.9 billion in funding, will take effect on October 1st, and prioritizes public safety and development initiatives. Highlights of the proposed budget plan include hiring over 250 new police officers and other first responders.

The committee has an upcoming item for a $46.7 million Mixed-Income Multi-Family Residential Project in southern Dallas.
