Cuyahoga County Planning Commission

The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission (CPC) is vested with the duty and power to study, plan, and recommend regional goals and objectives; and it is empowered to promote administrative and regulatory measures to implement the plans of the region. It may engage in the collection and analysis of social and economic data; general pattern and intensity of land use and open space; general land, water, and air transportation systems, and utility and communication systems; general locations and extent of public and private works, facilities and services; general locations and extent areas for conservation and development of natural resources and the control of the environment; and long-range programming and financing of capital projects and facilities. Furthermore, the CPC has a role in the relation to units of local government, the state and federal government, planning commissions, councils of government, and neighboring planning areas. The CPC is empowered to contract and to coordinate with these other entities. This includes providing land use, zoning, development, and other planning services for the county’s cities, villages and townships; Cuyahoga County; and other governmental and not-for-profit organizations.
